This is the English reading version of the Dutch news item InventCraft sluit zich aan bij de ArtCraft-familie.
InventCraft (formerly DATUM) is a parametric modeller with an Inventor-style interface on the OpenCASCADE kernel. It covers Part, Assembly, Drawing and CAM, with a feature tree you can reorder and roll back, SolidWorks-like rather than Fusion-like.

According to its own site, it is joining the Craft family around ArtCraft, the open source studio behind vibecoded clones of Adobe’s Creative Cloud. ArtCraft made the news in early October 2026 with a series of free apps that mimic Photoshop, Lightroom and Premiere, built with AI and without a subscription or cloud.
The base is solid: constrained sketches, extrude, revolve, sweep, loft, holes, fillet, shell, patterns and STEP import and export. Fillets work well, but not as well as in Parasolid.
MIT licence, installers for Windows and Linux, self-update, and old DATUM files open seamlessly. The source is on GitHub.
My verdict: one of the few vibecoded CAD apps that really has the basics in order. The MIT licence and the installers make it usable straight away.
